A Kuwaiti company is interested in localizing cable production in Uzbekistan.

A delegation from the Kuwaiti company Gulf Cables & Electrical Industries Group Co., led by Executive Director Basel Omran Kanaan, visited Uzbekistan, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

Gulf Cables & Electrical Industries Group Co., founded in 1975, is one of the largest manufacturers of cable, cable-conductor, and electrical products. The company’s product range includes more than 10 types of cable products, and its annual production capacity is approximately 100,000 tons.

The purpose of the visit was to discuss investment projects between Gulf Cables and Uzkabel JSC, as well as prospects for exporting copper cables manufactured in Uzbekistan to the Kuwaiti market.

During the visit, the Kuwaiti delegation met with the leadership of the Ministry of Investment, Industry, and Trade of Uzbekistan, as well as with the management of Uzkabel JSC.

During the negotiations, the Kuwaiti side explored investment opportunities in Uzkabel JSC to develop cable production. Investment prospects in the production of high-voltage transformers and other electrical products were also explored.

Furthermore, Gulf Cables representatives toured Uzkabel JSC’s existing production facilities and explored prospects for localizing the cable industry in Uzbekistan.

The delegation also visited United Cables’ new plant located in the Akhangaran copper cluster, as well as HPCS and NCC facilities in the Navoi region.

Following the visit, the parties agreed to continue bilateral negotiations on promising areas of mutually beneficial cooperation.
