The Ambassador of Uzbekistan discussed the prospects for new projects with one of the largest British investors

The Embassy of Uzbekistan in London held an online meeting with Temur Gadaybaev, the Director of the ‘BAT Uzbekistan’ joint venture, representing British American Tobacco, one of the largest British investors in the country, the correspondent of ‘Dunyo’ news agency reports.

During the meeting, the parties discussed expanding investment cooperation, increasing production volumes, and implementing new projects. Particular attention was paid to attracting additional investment into the Uzbek economy, introducing modern technologies, and expanding the use of local raw materials.

Additionally, the meeting discussed creating new jobs, expanding export geography, and diversifying production chains.

BAT Uzbekistan has been operating in the Uzbek market since 1994 and employs over 1,000 people. The corporation’s investment in the country’s economy exceeds $500 million. The company not only supplies the domestic market but is also a leading exporter.

In 2025, exports totaled nearly $100 million, with products supplied to Kazakhstan, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Iraq, and South Korea, and efforts to enter new markets are underway. Furthermore, the company is one of the largest private taxpayers in Uzbekistan.
