Issues of stimulating investment activity and supporting entrepreneurs were discussed

In the format of videoconferencing, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan J. Khodjaev held a meeting to discuss investment activities and support for entrepreneurs.

The heads of ministries, departments, industry associations, and local authorities presented reports on the implementation of investment projects under the State Investment Program and regional investment programs by regions and industries, outlined plans for further work to support project initiators, and also voiced problematic issues, according to each of which was analyzed and specific solutions were developed.

During the meeting, the current state of the development of attracted funds and grants from international financial institutions and foreign government financial organizations was also considered. The heads of the relevant ministries and departments were instructed to strengthen monitoring of the timely implementation of projects and the intended use of the funds raised.

Also on the agenda of the discussion were measures to prepare for the Open Dialogue of the Head of State with entrepreneurs scheduled for August this year. The progress of work on the collection and processing of appeals and proposals from entrepreneurs was considered: as of the current day, the Republican Headquarters received 6,316 appeals, of which practical solutions have already been developed for 1,719 applications. It was noted that in addition to appeals on problematic issues, a significant part of the total volume of applications is occupied by constructive proposals from business representatives regarding a wide range of factors that shape the investment and business environment in the country. Each such proposal is studied in detail by experts and specialists of the relevant bodies and structures for further use in improving the current regulatory environment or preparing draft government decisions.

As a result of the meeting, responsible managers received additional targeted instructions for the high-quality and timely implementation of the tasks set.
