Meeting with Chinese investors was held

The Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Chamber of Commerce and Commerce of the People’s Republic of China in Tashkent organized a meeting with representatives of Chinese business and investment circles that operate in Uzbekistan.

It was announced that thanks to the support of the state, constant dialogue and the desire to quickly resolve issues arising from partners, investor confidence is growing, and the investment climate is improving. Thus, over the past five years, the number of enterprises involving Chinese capital in Uzbekistan has increased significantly. In particular, if in 2017 there were 870 such enterprises, today the number has approached 2 thousand. Chinese business investments in Uzbekistan’s economy have reached $9 billion.

The dialogue was informal. The goal is to discuss the problems faced by businessmen in a trusting atmosphere and develop optimal mechanisms for solving them right on the spot, as well as on the basis of the proposals made to consider promising areas for strengthening the position of Chinese capital in the Uzbekistan market

The meeting was attended by representatives of more than 20 Chinese companies operating in Uzbekistan. Among them are such large ones as ZTE Corporation, Asia Trans Gas, China Construction, Shanghai Construction. Entrepreneurs presented a brief overview of their activities, talked about the projects implemented and implemented, plans for the near future, as well as the problems they face in practice. Most of the investors were interested in issues in the field of taxation, customs procedures and infrastructure provision. For each issue raised by investors during the meeting, solutions were found and responsible departments were identified.

Following the meeting, the effectiveness of such a format of dialogue was noted and it was decided to make such meetings regular.
