Uzbek diplomats discussed promising joint projects with Germany and Switzerland

In the German city of Konstanz (the federal state of Baden-Württemberg), negotiations were held between the Consul General of Uzbekistan Olimjon Abdullayev and the chairman of the board of the Uzbek-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry Gulnora Salimova, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

The meeting discussed issues of deepening bilateral Uzbek-Swiss trade and economic cooperation, in particular, the establishment of direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries. Promising areas of economic cooperation, attracting foreign investment, the possibility of increasing the volume of exports of Uzbek products to Switzerland, and improving the mechanisms of external labor migration were considered. Special attention is paid to interaction in the field of education and social support.

An exchange of views took place on the implementation of large-scale projects together with the German recruiting company “GLOBOGATE GmbH” on the employment of mid-level medical workers from Uzbekistan in Germany. Currently, more than 160 candidates from Uzbekistan are preparing to pass the German language exam and be sent to work in Germany.

The prospects for opening a Bavarian center for training workers from Uzbekistan for German industrial enterprises were also considered.

Another key area of negotiations was the possibility of attracting investments from the international language school “Berlitz International Sprachschule” in the national education sector. In February this year, a German delegation will visit to meet with the Ministries of Education, Employment and Poverty Reduction, as well as potential partners to create a joint venture. German investors plan to get acquainted with the learning process and qualifications of working teachers and operating language centers in the cities of Tashkent, Angren and Nukus.

Also discussed were two new projects in the field of higher education and vocational training on the introduction of the German system “curriculum” and the creation of the International Academy of Accountancy.

At the end of the meeting, an agreement was reached within the framework of the spring parliamentary session in Switzerland to organize a presentation about Uzbekistan and a series of meetings with business circles of this country through the possibilities of the Uzbek-Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
