Tashkent hosted the International Economic Forum

On October 5 this year, Tashkent hosted the International Economic Forum, organized as part of the World Judo Championship, which will be held on October 6-13.

The opening ceremony of the forum was attended by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, President of the International Judo Federation Marius Vizer, Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sherzod Shermatov and other representatives of ministries and departments.

Trends in banking, finance, technology and IT were on the agenda. In addition, the participants discussed the issues of investing in Uzbekistan.

Among the participants were diplomatic missions, representatives of federations, unions, judo confederations of various countries, representatives of international organizations and international financial institutions.

In his speech, Jamshid Khodjaev drew attention to such promising areas as alternative energy, noting that Uzbekistan plans to increase the use of renewable energy sources by almost 30% by 2030.

The attention of the participants was also drawn to the rapidly developing digital technologies all over the world, where the competitiveness of each country will directly depend on innovations and the introduction of information technologies. Therefore, the development of the digital economy as the main driver is one of the priority goals of the country,

It was emphasized that in the next five years it is planned to increase the export of software products by ten times, increase the speed of digitalization by 70%, and the corresponding network capacities – five times. Thus, the share of the digital technology network in GDP is planned to be increased to 4%.

Within the framework of the forum, B2B and B2G meetings were held, as well as the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between I-Cell and the Committee on Highways of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
