Senate held talks with Pakistan’s Ambassador on prospects for bilateral cooperation

The First Deputy Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Sodiq Safoyev held a meeting with the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Uzbekistan, Muhammad Mudasir Tipu, the press service of the Senate reports.

During the meeting, the current state and prospects for further developing multifaceted Uzbekistan–Pakistan cooperation were discussed.

It was noted that bilateral relations have been developing dynamically in recent years, with practical cooperation expanding in the political, trade and economic, investment, cultural and humanitarian, and other areas.

Particular attention was paid to further strengthening interparliamentary ties. The sides exchanged views on sharing legislative experience, further enhancing the activities of interparliamentary cooperation groups, expanding interregional ties, and providing mutual support within international parliamentary organizations.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to continue cooperation aimed at further strengthening and enriching interparliamentary relations in the interests of the peoples of the two countries.
