The 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Uzbek-Hungarian Commission on Economic Cooperation was held in Budapest, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov from the Uzbek side, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary Peter Szijjarto from the Hungarian side.
The purpose of the meeting was to discuss practical mechanisms for the implementation of bilateral agreements reached at the highest level, as well as the development of new initiatives to expand cooperation in key areas.
The parties discussed current issues of strengthening trade, economic and investment cooperation, the implementation of joint projects in industry, transport, agriculture, science and education, as well as the further development of business ties between enterprises of the two countries.
Following the meeting, the Protocol of the Intergovernmental Uzbek-Hungarian Commission was signed, which consolidated the agreements reached and identified priority areas for the near future.
Also, within the framework of the official program, two important documents were signed – a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Economic Relations of Hungary on cooperation within the framework of the ‘‘Stipendium Hungaricum’’ program for 2024-2026 and a Memorandum of Understanding between the Uzbek company ‘‘Basalt Group’’ and the Hungarian energy company ‘‘MOL’’, providing for the development of industrial cooperation and the use of innovative solutions in production.
The event ended with an Uzbek-Hungarian business forum with the participation of representatives of leading companies of the two countries, where prospects for expanding business partnerships and implementing joint projects were discussed.
