A business forum aimed at strengthening trade and economic cooperation between the regions of China and the Navoi region was held in Shanghai, the correspondent of ‘‘Dunyo’’ news agency reports.
The event was organized with the assistance of the Shanghai Chamber of Import and Export. It was attended by a delegation of the Navoi region headed by Deputy Khokim Elbek Gafforov, as well as representatives of more than 50 large Chinese companies.
The forum presented in detail the socio-economic and investment potential of the Navoi region. Chinese investors received detailed answers to questions about the conditions for doing business in the region, the opportunities created, tax and customs benefits, government support measures and specific investment projects.
The event discussed the prospects for implementing investment projects to develop the infrastructure of a smart city, green energy, furniture, automotive parts, food and agricultural products in the Navoi region. An agreement was reached to hold additional meetings to implement projects in these areas.
In addition, during the visit, representatives of the Uzbek delegation visited a number of Chinese companies and exchanged views on promising areas of cooperation.
