Uzbekistan and Afghanistan expand cooperation and textile industry

Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov paid a working visit to Afghanistan, where he held a number of important meetings with the heads of relevant departments in the cities of Kabul and Kandahar, the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry reports.

During the visit, negotiations were held with representatives of government agencies of Afghanistan on the development of industrial cooperation, especially in the textile industry and processing.

The key result of the visit was the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and the State Textile Corporation of Afghanistan. The document was signed by Davron Vakhabov and the head of the corporation Abdul Hamid Okhunzoda.

The signing ceremony was attended by representatives of the top leadership of Afghanistan, including Minister of Mining and Petroleum Hidayatullah Badri, Minister of Finance Mullah Nasir Okhund, Minister of Economy Din Muhammad Hanif and Chief of Staff of the Prime Minister Anwar-ul-Haq.

The agreements reached create a solid foundation for expanding bilateral economic partnership and implementing joint projects between the business communities of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.
