The visit of a delegation of South Korean business to Uzbekistan began with a joint business forum in Tashkent

Yesterday, the Uzbek-Korean business forum began its work in Tashkent, organized by the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade (MIFT) together with the Korean-Uzbek Business Association (CUBA) and the Embassy of our country in Seoul, in which representatives of ministries and departments took part and business circles of the two countries.

According to the MIFT, the South Korean business was represented by the heads of such large companies as KAKAO Group, Somang Global, Hanshin Engineering & Construction, Posco International, HYUNDAI Construction, DRB Group, Dae Woo Construction , ERA KOREA Co,. Ltd” ​​and others. In total, the South Korean delegation includes 200 representatives from 115 companies.

At the official opening of the business forum, the main speakers of both sides drew the attention of the participants to the special level of trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and South Korea. The active desire of the two countries to further expand multifaceted cooperation and establish strong direct ties between business circles was noted. Separately, successes in investment, industrial and trade cooperation were emphasized.

The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Uzbekistan Kim Sang-hee, the chairman of CUBA Kim Chang Keon, as well as the heads of leading South Korean companies and industry departments of Uzbekistan also spoke at the event. Significant potential for establishing partnerships in such areas as agriculture, education, textile, mining, electrical engineering, pharmaceutical industries and other industries was noted.

The interest of business in interaction was also reflected in the activity of meetings between representatives of the business circles of the two countries, organized on the sidelines of the forum in B2B and B2G formats. In an open dialogue face to face, the parties were able to substantively discuss the prospects for business cooperation on the basis of specific project proposals.

The program of the visit of the delegation of business circles of the Republic of Korea will last until July 7 and includes business forums in Tashkent and Syrdarya regions, as well as visits by members of the delegation to industrial facilities.

Following the results of the first day of the Forum, cooperation agreements were signed on academic exchange and support for joint educational projects between the Tashkent University of Oriental Studies, the Korean-Uzbek Business Association and Edulink Global Co., Ltd..

Based on the results of familiarization with the economic potential of industries and regions, a solid package of agreements is expected to be signed on the implementation of joint projects in the fields of agriculture, education, healthcare, urban infrastructure construction and others.
