A practical seminar on foreign trade forecasting is being held in Tashkent

A practical seminar on foreign trade forecasting is being held in Tashkent from 6 to 9 July, organized by the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), the press service of the MIIT reports.

As part of the seminar, professors and experts from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy (Germany) are delivering practical sessions on modern approaches to foreign trade analysis and forecasting, including gravity modeling and computable general equilibrium (CGE) models.

The seminar brings together representatives of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade and other government agencies responsible for foreign trade and economic development. Using Uzbekistan’s statistical data, participants are modeling various trade development scenarios and gaining practical experience in applying advanced analytical tools.

Following the seminar, the parties plan to continue cooperation on preparing pilot studies, introducing international best practices, and developing an evidence-based trade policy.

The seminar is being held as part of a joint initiative of the Ministry of Investments, Industry and Trade and GIZ aimed at strengthening institutional capacity in the field of foreign trade forecasting.
