On August 5, a business forum titled “Further Expansion of Cooperation between the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Republic of Uzbekistan” was held in Ufa, according to the report of the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.
The event brought together more than 100 Uzbek enterprises operating in the light industry, food industry, chemical industry, automotive manufacturing, furniture production, construction, healthcare, and information and communication technology sectors.
The forum was attended by Odilkhon Rustamov, Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan; Muzaffarkhon Musayev, Deputy Chairman of the Small Business Association; Alexander Sheldyaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Minister of Industry, Energy and Innovation; heads of seven other ministries; and Artem Penzin, Director of the Alga Special Economic Zone.
During the meeting, it was noted that bilateral trade between Uzbekistan and Russia reached nearly USD 13 billion by the end of 2025, while the number of enterprises with Russian capital operating in Uzbekistan exceeded 3,000.
As part of the forum, agreements were reached with BashGlobalGrupp LLC to open a Uzbekistan Trade House at the Eurasia wholesale distribution center, to involve Uzbek companies in the International Multifunctional Business Complex project, and to facilitate the sale of non-food products through the Tolpar Technopark. Bashkir enterprises were also invited to operate within a free economic zone oriented toward the Afghan market.
During the event, a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation development was signed between the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Bashkortostan.
In addition, contracts and agreements were signed following the B2B negotiations.
