On May 8, as part of a program of events in Moscow, a meeting was held between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, the press service of the head of our state reports.
At the beginning of the conversation, the two leaders exchanged warm congratulations on the occasion of the 81st anniversary of Victory Day.
The parties discussed the further expansion and strengthening of Uzbek-Russian relations, a comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, in the context of the practical implementation of agreements reached during previous high-level contacts.
The steady growth in trade volumes and the successful implementation of projects in industry, energy, metallurgy, and other sectors were noted with satisfaction.
The importance of coordinated measures aimed at maintaining the momentum of trade turnover and accelerating cooperation projects in priority sectors, as well as continuing active contacts at the regional level, was emphasized.
Special attention was paid to further promoting intensive cultural and humanitarian exchanges.
The leaders of Uzbekistan and Russia also exchanged views on international issues.
