The Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan

On 19 August, Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Laziz Kudratov held a meeting with Rashad Mammadov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Uzbekistan, the press service of the MIIT reports.

The parties reviewed the dynamics of bilateral trade and investment cooperation. In 2025, bilateral trade reached USD 307.3 million (+14.6%), while in January–June 2026 it amounted to USD 170.3 million (+30.8%).

Particular attention was paid to the preparation of bilateral documents aimed at further expanding trade and investment cooperation, including a Roadmap for the implementation of the agreements reached and a Programme to increase bilateral trade to USD 1 billion by 2030.

The parties also discussed organizational matters related to the 4th Uzbekistan–Azerbaijan Interregional Forum, which will take place in Tashkent on 22 August and serve as a platform for expanding direct contacts between the regions and businesses of the two countries.

Following the meeting, further steps were identified to increase bilateral trade, advance investment projects and strengthen interregional ties.
