On August 10 of this year, within the framework of the Uzbekistan–Korea Business Forum, Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan I. Abdugafarov held a meeting with Mr. Yoo Hee Chul, President of the South Korean company Sampyo Railway Co., Ltd., the press service of the Ministry of Transport reports.
The meeting focused on localizing the production of essential spare parts for railway transport, as well as engaging qualified Korean specialists in studying the requirements and standards established by the regulatory, legal, and technical documents adopted in Uzbekistan.
The parties agreed to further develop cooperation in this area, accelerate the implementation of the project, and define concrete measures to advance it.
The meeting is expected to contribute to expanding local production in the railway sector, increasing the output of import-substituting products, and strengthening practical cooperation between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea in the field of transport.
