Agreement on technical and economic cooperation signed between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China

On May 24 of this year, the ceremony of signing the Agreement on Technical and Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the People’s Republic of China took place in the building of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.

The document was signed by First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan A. Voitov and Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People’s Republic of China to the Republic of Uzbekistan Jiang Yan.

The agreement provides for the provision by the Government of the PRC of gratuitous financial assistance in the amount of 250 million yuan (equivalent to $37.5 million) for the implementation of joint socially significant projects in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

To date, within the framework of technical and economic cooperation between the two countries, projects have been carried out in such areas as health, education, agriculture and water, culture, transport and other areas.
