The President of Uzbekistan noted the importance of effectively realizing the potential of cooperation with Oman

On April 15, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation of the Sultanate of Oman led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr bin Hamad al-Busaidi, who arrived in our country to participate in the ministerial Strategic Dialogue in the format “Central Asia – Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf,” the press service of the President of Uzbekistan reports

The Minister of Foreign Affairs conveyed the sincere greetings and wishes of the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, to the head of our state.

Issues of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries were considered, primarily the effective implementation of potential in the trade, economic and investment spheres.

The importance of expanding the portfolio of projects of the joint investment company operating in Uzbekistan was noted.

It is proposed to implement new projects and programs in such priority areas as the development of the banking sector, digital technologies, energy, industry, agriculture, and education.

The need to intensify contacts and institutional mechanisms for cooperation was emphasized – regular political consultations, meetings of the Intergovernmental Commission, business forums and exhibitions.

An exchange of views also took place on issues of regional cooperation, including within the framework of the Ashgabat Agreement of 2011.
