Uzbek diplomats discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation with companies in the Indian state of Telangana

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Sardor Rustambaev held negotiations on the further development of mutually beneficial interregional relations in the Indian state of Telangana, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

Telangana is located in southern India and is the youngest state in the country. Organized in 2014, Telangana has demonstrated consistent development performance. Innovation initiatives that encourage the creation of new businesses and attract investment are bearing fruit. Today, the region regularly ranks among the top states in the Government of India’s Ease of Doing Business rankings.

The field of medicine and pharmaceuticals is developing especially dynamically in the state. According to statistics, Telangana’s contribution to the country’s pharmaceutical production is 30 percent. About 20 incubators in the field of life sciences and medical technologies have been created in the administrative center of the state – the city of Hyderabad. It is predicted that the city could become a $100 billion business powerhouse by 2028.

Therefore, within the framework of the meetings organized by the Embassy, the main topic was the prospects for cooperation in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals.

Representatives of the business community were provided with detailed information about the favorable environment created in Uzbekistan in recent years for doing business, broad government support for creating new enterprises and attracting investments, the effectiveness of free economic zones and clusters in the field of medicine and pharmaceuticals.

During negotiations with the general manager for international marketing of the Hetero company Shyam Akku, the vice president for international business of the Bharat Biotech company Venka Sivaramakrishnan, the general manager for international marketing of the Health on us company Vijay Babu and others, the prospects for cooperation in areas such as medicine, pharmaceuticals and personal health, implementation of joint projects and production of internationally competitive products.

The parties also paid attention to issues of investment cooperation in the field of information technology, real estate, tourism, and the production of feature and documentary films.

Representatives of large companies in the state of Telangana expressed interest in further developing cooperation with Uzbekistan.
