Export of Uzbek textiles to Saudi Arabia and creation of a joint venture were discussed in Jeddah

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Maksudov met in Jeddah with the director of the textile company “Sitra” Umar al-Sakkaf, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

During the conversation, issues of developing cooperation between the textile enterprises of Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia, exporting textiles produced in our country to the kingdom, and creating a joint venture were discussed.

The head of the diplomatic mission provided information on the opportunities created by the leadership of Uzbekistan for foreign investors, the benefits provided for the implementation of investment projects.

Umar al-Saqqaf highly appreciated the large-scale reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years, including in the field of investment. He noted that Uzbekistan is strengthening its position at the global level, and the country’s economy, which is growing day by day, is the practical result of these efforts. In particular, the state visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia on August 17-18 this year and the meeting with representatives of the business circles of the kingdom indicate that the head of our state pays great attention to the development of the economy, strengthening relations between the two countries in investment and trade and economic spheres.

The interlocutor noted that Saudi investors are interested in close cooperation with the ministries and departments of the country, joint investment in projects in the textile sector. The entrepreneur expressed interest in establishing cooperation with enterprises of Uzbekistan and exporting Uzbek textile products to the Saudi Arabian market.

At the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the creation of an Uzbek-Saudi joint venture.
