The Ministry of Foreign Affairs held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Business and Trade of the United Kingdom

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Gayrat Fozilov held talks with the Parliamentary Under Secretary of State (Minister for Exports) in the Department of Business and Trade of the United Kingdom Lord Malcolm Offord, the press service of MFA reports.

The sides discussed the current state and prospects for the development of bilateral cooperation with an emphasis on strengthening economic diplomacy.

The parties confirmed their readiness to take joint measures to intensify direct contacts between the business circles of the two countries, expand the range of exporting goods from Uzbekistan to the UK and increase trade volumes, attract large British companies and financial institutions to implement joint projects in Uzbekistan.

They also exchanged views on the full implementation of trade contracts, investment deals and other previously achieved agreements.

The delegations considered interaction within the framework of international organizations. Mutual interest was expressed in maintaining close cooperation in the process of Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO.
