In the service sector, a growth of 15.9% was achieved

Experts from the Institute for Forecasting and Macroeconomic Research (IFMR) assessed changes in the development of the service sector in the regions of Uzbekistan for the first quarter of 2022.

According to the results of the assessment, in the first quarter of 2022, compared to the corresponding period last year, the increase in the volume of services provided in the republic amounted to 15.9%.

High growth results relative to the republican parameter are provided in Ferghana (20.1%), Jizzakh (16.5%) regions, the Republic of Karakalpakstan (18.3%) and the city of Tashkent (19.8%). At the same time, in the Andijan region (6.9%), a relatively low value of the indicator is noted.

In terms of the production of services per capita, the leading positions were occupied by Tashkent, Navoi, Bukhara regions and the city of Tashkent. At the same time, Surkhandarya and Kashkadarya regions are somewhat behind the above-mentioned territories.

The assessment shows that in the sectoral structure of GDP, the share of services in the first quarter of this year amounted to 45.8%. In this regard, among the regions of the country, high results were achieved in Namangan, Surkhandarya regions and the city of Tashkent.

At the level of the republic, 23.1% of services fall on the share of rural areas. High values ​​for this indicator are noted in Tashkent, Samarkand, Surkhandarya, Khorezm, Andijan, Fergana regions.
