Full-scale preparations for the Tashkent International Investment Forum are underway in Tashkent

On March 15 this year, S. Umurzakov, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting of the Organizing Committee for the 1st Tashkent International Investment Forum.

The meeting was attended by the Heads of ministries, departments, industry associations, as well as through videoconferencing the heads of local authorities of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions and Tashkent city.

A wide range of issues related to the formation of the Forum business program, arrangement of the participation of foreign delegations, investors and the media, ensuring compliance with sanitary and epidemiological safety requirements and other aspects of preparation have been discussed.

The heads of relevant ministries and departments reported on the work being done in the relevant areas and received additional instructions for the high-quality and timely implementation of the tasks set.

It was emphasized that the key objectives of the Forum are the presentation of New Uzbekistan to the world business community, promoting the country as a priority for foreign investors, attracting foreign investment and modern technologies to the economy, identifying new “points of growth” in the field of international economic cooperation, as well as identifying areas of mutual interests to establish direct relations between the business communities of Uzbekistan and other countries.

In this regard, the need was raised to mobilize all available resources and mechanisms to hold the Forum at a high organizational and substantive level, bearing in mind, among other things, the achievement of concrete results, representing clear understandings in the field of investment, trade and economic partnership.

 The event is scheduled for March 24-26. It is expected that more than 1.5 thousand major investors and high-level guests from 56 countries, representatives of international organizations and financial institutions will take part in it. In particular, the forum will be attended by the Presidents of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Asian Development Bank, a number of international organizations, representatives of ministries and departments of foreign countries, heads of large corporations and companies. More than 40 events will be held within the framework of the Forum, including a plenary session, interactive Round Tables, panel discussions, Deep Dive sessions, business breakfasts, presentations, briefings and meetings in the G2G, G2B and B2B formats.

Also, the Forum participants will have the opportunity to visit the country’s leading industrial enterprises and study the achievements of the Uzbek economy in various sectors. In addition, tourist trips to the historical cities of Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva will be organized for foreign guests, where they will be able to get acquainted with the rich architectural heritage and colorful culture of Uzbekistan.
