Leading South Korean company plans to invest in major infrastructure development and construction of modern housing complexes in Uzbekistan

With the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, the South Korean delegation headed by the chairman of the Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. Jung Won Joo flew to the city of Tashkent, the correspondent of “Dunyo” news agency reports.


The delegation also included Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Korean-Uzbek Business Association Kim Chang Keon, Executive Vice President of Daewoo Construction Group Han Syng and Chairman of Hanlim Park Jin San. During the visit to Uzbekistan, it is planned to discuss and make presentations of specific plans for establishing long-term cooperation.

It should be noted that Daewoo Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd. expressed its readiness to attract direct investment to Uzbekistan through participation in large projects for the development of infrastructure and the construction of modern housing complexes on the principle of “smart city” with the introduction of South Korean standards. The company also intends to participate in the creation of new thermal, solar and wind power plants, oil and gas, petrochemical and other industrial complexes in Uzbekistan.

The visit program includes meetings with the heads of a number of ministries and khokimiyats of the Tashkent region and the city of Tashkent to discuss promising areas for mutually beneficial long-term cooperation and specific plans for the implementation of the planned projects.
