The Embassy of Uzbekistan discussed the attraction of advanced Japanese technologies for the food industry and agricultural processing

A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan with Koichi Inoue, Executive Managing Director of the Japan Food Machinery Manufacturers’ Association (FOOMA), the correspondent of Dunyo News Agency reports.

The meeting focused on expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation between the two countries, particularly on attracting advanced Japanese technologies for the food industry and the processing of agricultural products.

FOOMA brings together Japan’s leading manufacturers of food-processing machinery and equipment.

The parties discussed opportunities to introduce Japanese technologies for the processing, storage, and packaging of agricultural products, reduce post-harvest losses, and produce goods with high added value.

Koichi Inoue noted that the economic reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan and the new business opportunities emerging in the country are of considerable interest to Japanese companies.

Following the meeting, the parties agreed to expand practical cooperation with FOOMA member companies, organize B2B meetings during the planned visit of a delegation from Tashkent Region to Japan at the end of October, hold an online seminar on Uzbekistan’s investment opportunities for Japanese businesses, and continue work on establishing financial mechanisms for the acquisition of modern Japanese equipment.
