The Uzbekistan-Mongolia Business Forum was held in Tashkent, featuring participation from over 70 companies from both nations, the press service of the MIIT reports. The delegations were led by Ilzat Kasimov, Deputy Minister of MIIT; Dadanhuu Batbaatar, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Uzbekistan; and Sukhbaatar Erdenebat, Member of the Mongolian Parliament.
The parties recognized a 15.6% increase in Uzbekistan’s exports to Mongolia during the first quarter of this year and established a target to reach an annual trade turnover of 100 million USD.
Industrial cooperation focused on processing Mongolian wool and cashmere in Uzbekistan for export markets emerged as a key priority. In the agricultural sector, plans were outlined to increase the Mongolian sheep population in Uzbekistan to 1 million head by 2029 and to implement Uzbek irrigation systems in Mongolia.
Discussions included the launch of freight transport along the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China-Mongolia corridor. Within the geological sector, the representative office of the relevant Uzbek ministry in Ulaanbaatar has commenced operations to develop mineral deposits.
Negotiations involving companies such as Suzur Health Med, Prime Nomadic Meat, and Tsamkhag Construction in B2B and G2B formats facilitated the assembly of an investment project package. The forum concluded with the establishment of a permanent mechanism to support and monitor joint initiatives.
