On June 30 – July 1, in Tbilisi, Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade, Laziz Kudratov, held meetings ahead of the high-level official visit to advance economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia, the press service of the MIIT reports.
The Minister held talks with Mariam Kvrivishvili, Georgia’s Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development. The discussions focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, including preparations for the signing of a package of bilateral agreements to enhance trade, investment, and transport and logistics cooperation, as well as preparations for the 11th session of the Uzbekistan–Georgia Intergovernmental Commission, scheduled to take place in Georgia this autumn.
In parallel, meetings were held with the executives of 22 leading Georgian companies and organizations. The discussions resulted in agreements to advance promising investment and industrial cooperation projects in manufacturing, construction, logistics, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, energy, the oil and gas sector, and the production of construction materials.
Particular attention was devoted to strengthening financial cooperation and investment support mechanisms. The parties discussed the further expansion of TBC’s operations in Uzbekistan, the establishment of an investment platform to mobilize financing from international financial institutions and investment funds, as well as the creation of a dedicated Fund to support industrial cooperation projects.
