Chinese investors plan to launch production of equipment for small hydropower plants in Uzbekistan

The Consul General of Uzbekistan in Shanghai Aziz Masutov met with Chen Chen, Deputy General Manager of Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic Co., Ltd., the correspondebt of “Dunyo” news agency reports.

The Chinese side was presented with the presentation of the investment and business climate in Uzbekistan, information on the benefits and preferences provided to foreign investors, as well as on free economic zones operating on the territory of the republic.

During the meeting, an exchange of views took place on the development and expansion of bilateral trade and economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and the East China region, as well as attracting foreign investment and modern technologies to the republic.

The representative of the Chinese company highly appreciated the progressive reforms carried out under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev in the economic and social spheres. It was emphasized that Zhejiang Jinlun Electromechanic Co., Ltd is confident about the prospects for expanding its long-term presence in Uzbekistan by increasing investment and technological cooperation.

Based on the results of the preliminary work, the Chinese side decided to send its delegation headed by the chairman of the company to Uzbekistan from February 17 to 24, 2023 to conduct negotiations on the establishment of a joint Uzbek-Chinese enterprise for the production of hydraulic turbines, generators and spare parts for small hydropower plants with further deepening the level of localization of production and providing jobs for up to 200 people.
