An exhibition “Made in Uzbekistan” dedicated to the industrial and investment potential of Uzbekistan will be organized in Budapest

The Embassy of Uzbekistan organized online negotiations between the Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan and the Hungarian Export Promotion Agency (HEPA).

The parties discussed the organization of joint events with the participation of representatives of the business circles of the two countries, in particular, the organization of an exhibition dedicated to the industrial and investment potential of Uzbekistan this year in the Hungarian capital, as well as organizational issues of its holding.

During the videoconference, the head of the department of the Export Promotion Agency, Gavkhar Khaitmetova, noted that the memorandum of understanding signed in February 2021 between the agencies of the two countries created a legal basis for cooperation between the departments, and also stressed the importance of implementing joint activities in the areas identified in the document.

In particular, the Uzbek side put forward a proposal to hold an exhibition of food products, textiles and handicrafts of Uzbekistan “Made in Uzbekistan” in Budapest and turned to the Hungarian side for help in holding this event.

The head of the HEPA department, Mate Gorgeni, noted that the Hungarian side was interested in deepening interdepartmental cooperation and announced its readiness to assist in all matters related to the organization of the exhibition proposed by the Uzbek partners, including the search for a suitable venue for the event, the delivery of products exhibited at the fair, as well as an invitation to the event representatives of large Hungarian companies.

During the negotiations, the parties reached preliminary agreements on organizing an exhibition in Budapest in November this year.

Also, in order to promptly resolve issues related to the holding of the exhibition, coordinators from the departments of the two countries were identified.
